'Tis the season to be jolly!'

I trust that each one of you had a good Thanksgiving. Now, it's Christmas time. We put up our tree last Saturday. Aunt Darlene did most of the decorating. We all have been fighting the cold. All three of my kids are on antibodics. Esteban, Aunt Darlene, and I are trying to use home rememdies. Next Friday night is the Christmas party for Kaufman Trailers. It is going to be held in Asheboro, NC this year. We will be doing our Christmas shopping after Esteban gets his bonus. So it will look bare under our tree until then. I'm kinda afraid to put anything under the tree. I don't want Daisy ( the dog) unwrapping the gifts. I don't even think that she has noticed the tree yet. She is the laziest pit I have ever seen. She sleeps too much. I had a kid's green recliner for Esteban Lee and Cynthia and she claimed it as hers as soon as we got her and when Fabian gets in her chair she doesn't like it. The only time she will bark at you is when she is sleeping in her chair and you decide to pull her ears. She is a sweet dog.
I still have to hang up our stockings. I'm not sure where to hang them. I had to put our loveseat on bed risers and put it in front of the fireplace to make room for the tree. I'll probally hang them on the wall by the tree. I wish you all the best for Christmas. Don't forget to thank Jesus for coming as a babe in the manger. Have a wonderful Christmas. The Lord Bless All of you and enjoy your families.

Update On Trip To Mexico

I found the blog I wrote about going Mx. I decided that I better let everyone know how things went. We had a nice visit with Esteban's parents. I made cakes and choc. chip cookies, poor man steak, mashed potaoes, American fried chicken for them while I was there. I took some of my ingredients with me because I didn't know if I could find them there and if I could how much it would cost. Man, the hamburger was so expensive. I don't remember how much, but I do remember that it was expensive and you only buy it on special occassions.
Esteban's dad is raising pigs and we got to see some be born. It's amazing that they are sooo pink and cute when they are first born, but after they are a few days old they become dirty looking. On rainy days, the baby pigs would walk in the house ( the only time the doors were shut was when it was time to go to bed) to get out of the rain. They would go in the kitchen and in the living room. Every time I saw them in the house, I shooed them out the back door and Esteban's dad would laugh at me and say that I never lived on a farm. I told him that I did and my mother never let the animals come in the house. One day, he decided to put them in one of their bathrooms for the night. I helped him put those squealling pigs in the bathroom. We had to hurry and try to keep them quiet so the mamma pig wouldn't hear them and try to get loose and get mad at whoever was hurting her babies. Never in my life did I think that mamma pigs became mean when someone touched her piglets. We had fun trying to keep up with those baby pigs. We had to go get them when they went in the neighbor's yard. There was never a dull moment when those pigs were out of their pen.
We had a good time there, but it was to long to be away from hubby. I told Esteban that the next time I go to Mx, he is going with me. Can you blame me? :) I was very glad to get home. Esteban's dad took me to the airport in Mx City and then I was on my own with the 3 kids. What an experience I'll never forget! On the way down, I changed planes in Chicago and our plane was late and I didn't think that I would get there in time. Well, I had to run with a 25 lb bag on my back and push 3 kids in a twin stroller. When we got there, we quickly went to the bathrooms and got in line while they were boarding the plane. I barely had time to catch my breath. I called mom to tell her that we got to our next flight and I could not talk long, I was out of breath & I needed a drink, but we made it to Mx all in one piece. On the way home, now that was a challenge. We made it to Chicago with no problem. We get in line and get on the plane and I had 3 crying & cranky kids on my hands. There were only 2 seats on each side of the plane. Esteban Lee had to sit acroos the aisle from me. I could reach out and touch him. He was so exhausted and tired and all he did was cry and say that he wanted his mommy. There was nothing I could do to calm him down and the flight attendent told him that if he quit crying she would give him some M&Ms. Finaly he stopped crying. Well ,we were off and the 3 kids went to sleep during take off. I thought that I could rest the last 2 hrs home. Wrong! We had problems with the plane and we had to land and get off the plane. Now, how was I going to get off the plane and put 3 sleeping childern in the stroller and wait till we could get back on again? I would not have been able to do it if the people hadn't helped me. Someone helped me with Fabian and held him while he slept ( he even peed thru his clothes and soaked her too) and the other 2 slept in the stroller while we waited. I called Esteban and told him that we would be getting in late. Guess what? After I talked to him on the phone, they cancelled our flight. Now, what was I suppose to do? .There was no way I wanted to find a hotel with 3 kids, had no cash on hand,I had only a few diapers in my bag, and I was about to burst into tears. I called Esteban and told him and then I said come get me. He would have if he could. I got in line with everyone else to get another ticket. I got one to leave around 6 in the morning to go to Greensboro. Now, it was around 1:00 in the morning and there was no way I was going to leave that big airport and try to find my way around it again. So, we spent the night in that big airport. The kids were still sleeping, so I left Esteban Lee in the stroller and put Cynthia on the floor ( she kept sliding out of her seat), and I curled up on the floor with Fabian and when I laid him down he dcided to wake up. I finally, got him quited down and I dosed off and on for a couple of hours. We get to Greensboro and go to get my luggage and they sent it to Charolette. They forgot to switch it. We went to pick it up that afternoon @ Charolette. Now, I know what its like to stay over night in an airport with kids. It really wasn't that bad. It could have been worse. I thank the Lord that even though Esteban wasn't with me, He was with me and I was okay. We did have a wonderful time and it was quite an experience.

Lost Blog Found !

Hey, I found the blog that I wrote before we went to Mx. So, I posted it again. Somehow it got stuck in my draft box. I don't know what I'm doing half the time when I'm trying to blog.:) Its a little late(well 7 months late). Anyhow, I hope that you still will enjoy it. I'll post more later. I have to pick Esteban Lee up from school right now. Talk to ya'll later.
Bye for now. Cindy

Catch Up Time!

Well, its been along time since I last blogged. The last time I tried was before we went to Mx in May (the three of us) for a whole 4 weeks without Daddy. That was a challenge. Anyhow I had this whole nice blog and I lost it and then I said forget it. So, I decided to try again. I'm @ mom's doing laundry and the 2 babies are in the beds taking a nap and Esteban Lee is @ school. We decided to enroll him @ Tabernancle Public School for this year since he needs speach and O.T. He is doing well @ school and he is doing better since he is getting therapy. I'm hoping to be able to homeschool him next year.
We all are doing okay. The Lord has been good to us. Esteban's job has slowed way down, but @ least he still has work. Thank the Lord. We have refinanced our house so our payments are lower and that helps out alot. I guess we are going to try to have a bigger garden this year and I'm going to have to see if my mother will teach me how to can what we grow. In our last garden we planted cuccumbers and watermelon plants and they took over the whole garden. It was hard to walk in it to pick the vegetables. It was better than our first year. The first year we planted watermelon they grew, but they had a disease or something. They got black on the ends and when we cut them open they were no good. So we went from bad to very good. We had to give alot of the watermelons away. We had to many. Wonder what will happen this next year? Well I'll try not to wait so long ti post again. I have to check on my laundry and get packed up to leave. I have about a half an hour before I need to pick up Esteban Lee from school. He gets out of school @ 2:30p.m. So, I'll close for now. Have a wonderful week and may the Lord bless you.

Catch Up Time!

Hey Everyone, I'm sure that all of you are tired of seeing a blog from Jan. so let me update a little bit. In Feb, we went to the Hobe Sound campmeeting for the first weekend. Not much interesting happened that month. March 15th was baby Fabian's 1st birthday. We gave him a Mexican party. I cooked a ham, rice, refried blk beans, homemade tortillas and hotsauce. We swallowed it down with pespi. The best part of a party is the Mexican thres leche pastel. the 3 milk cake. All the Gringos couldn't believe how good it tasted. The baby was not in a mood for a party since he decided to start teething that day.He was very cranky. We had the party on the 22nd. We were going to have it on the day of his birthday, but I got sick that weekend and didn't feel like having a bunch of people over.
The weekened after Fabian's party, we added a new member to our family. Her name is Daisy and she was born on Feb 21,2008. In case you're wondering if we had a new baby, I guess you could say that we did :) because a 5 week old pitbull is just like a baby when you have to get up in the middle of the night to take her outside to use the bathroom and she cries because she is lonely and so you put her in bed with you so you and the rest of the family can sleep. Guess who had to take care of her. That's right "Momma". Esteban Lee has been praying a long time for a pitbull and some friends of ours has a female and breeded her and gave us one free and I got to pick her out. For those of you who think that they are man eaters :) ( Iwas sceptical at first till I read up on them & hubby had one till it got stolen), you have to make sure that they come from a good blood line and their not bred to fight. The mother of Daisy is very gentle with kids and she is a house dog and she is very laid back. When she turns 10 weeks we want to send her to obedient school that way we can have an upper hand on her. Anyhow she was Esteban Lee's birthday gift from us. We will give him a party on his birthday. It's June 12. He starts school this year. I'm over here at my mother's doing some laundry. My washer quit. I think that I'll have to get a new one when that tax money gets here. I think that we all wait for that tax refund to get here so we can buy things that we can't afford during the year or pay off some bills so we can make more bills. :) I hope that we can get all our credit cards paid off so we can shred them up. I've all ready shredded one up and Esteban has to shred his up since we just paid it off. I haven't had a car payment in 4 yrs and am I so thankful that we have been able to pay cash for them. We had to buy a van when Fabian was born because we couldn't get 3 carseats in a small car. God has really been good to us. No, we don't have an elaborate house or fancy house, but we are rich because we have Jesus Christ living in our hearts and our home. God is so wonderful and I'm glad that he is my King and I'll get my mansion when I get to heaven.:) And everyone said amen.:) This month is full for me. I am going to start cleaning out my basement today ( I've been saying this)and get things together that I don't want, use or need anymore. I have to have it out on my front porch by April 22nd so the Veterians can come and get it so they can sell it and use the money. I was going to have a yard sale, but it's easier for me to give it away for someone else to use than for me try to sell it. Yeah, the money would be nice, but I won't have a headache trying to make the money. So, I'll give it away instead. Fabian is doing physical therapy on Mondays( he's not walking yet and he's very laid back and could care less if he walks) and Esteban Lee does speech therapy on Thursdays so I'm staying busy. Tomorrow morning Daisy will get her shots. I'm starting to become very busy going places and doing things. Sometimes, I don't know which end is up. Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and maybe I wont take so long to blog next time.
God Bless You All,
Cindy

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Yesterday was Esteban's birthday. I wasn't able to post this yesterday so I'm doing it today. We didn't go to church in the morning. It was canceled because it snowed Sat. Then Sunday night, we couldn't go because Esteban Lee got pink eye. I take him to the doctor's this morning. We went to mom's for lunch and then Sun. night I had mom, dad, Aunt Darlene, and grandma Foster over after church for homemade pizza and wackey cake and icecream. Esteban got cards with money in them. He had a pretty good birthday. He got to talk to his family from Mexico and they all wished him a happy 28th birthday.
We love you Esteban and we are glad that God gave us another year with you. I hope that you have another wonderful year. I'm glad that you are my husband. You are the best one in the world. Thanks for being a wonderful help-mate and for being there when I need you, and for helping me with the childern and the house when I'm not feeling well. Have a wonderful day, Baby.
Te quiero mucho,
Tu esposa, Cindy

A Snowy Day!

Thursday morning we woke up to snow so back to bed for a couple more hours. Esteban can't paint in the snow. After a hearty breakfast that consisted of home made waffles with syrup, milk for the kids, and baccon and coffee for daddy, we all decided to ride along with daddy to the library and drop off some books and the Swiss Family Robinson movie. Well, we never made it to the library. Our van started to make a loud funny noise right before we got to the library. We decided that we better skip the library for now and go (crawl) to Esteban's brother's house in town. Esteban didn't know what was wrong so he didn't want to take the chance and pull off and check it for fear that it wouldn't start again. We got stuck at the railroad crossing ( for what seemed like forever) praying that the van wouldn't cut off and that we would be able to make the last 3 minute drive in a 15 minute drive. Well, we finally made it and Luis took Esteban back to our house to get the tools that we should have left in the van, but decided to take them out. Anyhow even if they were in the van, Esteban still would've had to go home because the wrench that he needed was in the new tool box he got for Christmas. Hey, at least he got to put them to use, right? He decided that he better bring them all just in case so he wouldn't have to make more trips home. He went and bought the "wrong" part after he picked up the tools and came back to his brother's house to fix the van. Luis dropped him off and went to buy Tylenol for his baby girl since she wasn't feeling good. While he was doing that, Esteban took the part off the car and found out that he bought the wrong part so he called his brother. Then had to wait till he got back home to go and get the right part. After he got the right part it was time to eat a Mexican meal that was fixed by his "gringa" wife and his "Mexican" niece. Letty wasn't feeling good either, and was trying to take care of her baby. We think that she either had a bladder or kidney infection. We said that the meal was "half-n half" gringa and Mexican. We fixed rice and memelas. Everything was homemade except for the beans. Luis bought them already refried. Letty said that the Lord let our van break down that way we could help her. Well, I don't know about that.:) Anyhow we were there and I helped her some. Esteban had the van fixed around 7:00pm and after it was fixed everyone was hungry again so I fixed pancakes for the kids and heated up the rice and the beans and some ham that Letty had frozen and made more tortillas. Before supper, Luis had their 3 older children straighten up the house and I cleaned the one bathroom. The baby was still fussy later so I called the doctor's office after hour number and the Secretary had the on-call nurse call me and I would talk to Letty and the nurse in English and Esteban interpreted into Spanish. They had to take Elizabet to the doctor today. We finally left sometime after 9:00 pm. Oh, I forgot to tell you that their pastor came over to check on the baby and he anointed her and prayed for her. I thought that it was interesting that all the adults that were there (not us) put oil on their hands just in case that they wanted to touch the baby also when the pastor prayed for her. They're pentecostal, but the pastor doesn't believe in speaking in tongues unless you have an interpreter and won't let you speak in tongues at his church unless you can have someone interpret for you. He seems to be a really good pastor, better than the other ones they've had. He has a very kind heart and he loves his people. When we got home our "babies" were half a sleep so Esteban carried them in and I fixed their beds and tucked them in for the night. Finally, I went to bed. Today, I had to go make the house payment and go to the bank and take back the "wrong"part my husband bought. I stopped at walmart and came home and my husband was home from work. It was too cloudy and foggy for them to paint and it doesn't look like they will be able to go in later either. So he decided to work on the yard and clean up some brush that we've started to clear away last fall. Well, I hope that each one of you have a wonderful afternoon whether it may be sunny, snowy, foggy, cloudy, or rainy. You get the picture. Have a wonderful afternoon and may our Lord bless you.

What A Way To Start The week!

Whew! Yesterday was a long day! Cynthia got the 24 hr flu around 4:30 p.m. and Fabian's gums were hurting and he was fussy. So in between clearing the table, sweeping the floor, cooking supper, I was trying to soothe a 10 month old and wipe up vomit after a 2 yr old when husband walked in the door. The table still wasn't finished and the dirt was in a pile and supper still wasn't cooked. Thank the Lord for leftovers. I had leftover roast and a little bit of rice from Sunday's lunch. So I quickly boiled potatoes and mashed them and cooked some vegetables while my sweet husband went to the store and bought Cynthia sprite and chicken noodle soup. Then when he got home, supper was done and the baby ate a little and was crying so sweet hubby held baby Fabian while I gobbled (literally) my food down. Then I took over and held him while he ate. Well Cynthia still wasn't feeling better and wasn't keeping the sprite down and I was out of Tylenol and had no pedilytes. So Esteban made a trip to walmart after he ate his supper. Well, who was going to clean the kitchen? At this time, who wouldn't wish for a maid? Well, guess the kitchen 'll have to wait till aunt Darlene gets home around 9:30 and it did. Aunt Darlene helped me unload the dishwasher and load it up. The rest could wait till morning hopefully the babies will feel better by then. Well, Fabian didn't go to sleep till around 11 something so I sat on the couch with him and had my devotions. Then I finally got him down and crawled into bed by sleeping husband and just lay my tired head down on the pillow and I jump up out of bed to help a little girl who is throwing up in her bed. Well, I didn't get to sleep till way after 1:30 a.m.After I fixed pancakes for breakfast this morning, I did finish the kitchen and even got the floor swept and mopped. Cynthia hasn't thrown up today and after lunch we all took naps. I started to feel queasy. Now, I feel OK. I guess I slept it off. Esteban Lee says he doesn't feel good now. Well, at least they're all not sick at once. Fabian seems happy right now. Guess what we are going to have for supper since nobody feels good? That's right! Homemade chicken noodle soup. I hope that the rest of the week goes better, but that's the fun part of being a mom. Sometimes you don't know how the day's going to go. I really do love being a mom. Most of us moms don't like it when our kids are sick. When they are sick it's okay just to make the house look presentable and take care of our babies. Well, I need to close so I can take care of my babies and have supper on the table when my sweet husband comes home. (at least try to.) I hope that you all have a good evening. Take care, Cindy

Christmas Tradition

Well I know that this is kind of late to be telling about our Christmas, but I had written it right after New Year's and I lost it all. Then we decided to paint our living room and dinning room and we had to unplug the computer for a couple of days. Esteban got me a new7 piece living room set and a dinning room table with 6 chairs. We painted our walls green ( not grass green) I'm not sure how to describe it. If I told you it kind of looked like mashed peas you might say yuk. (I would too) Anyhow it is pretty. Our lamps our a dark cream color our couches (there again not sure of the color) suede tan and the pillows that come with them have green, cream, gold, burgundy in them. I am going to get gold curtains for my windows. I also got a digital camera and when I learn how to use it I'll take pictures and let everyone see it.
Christmas Eve, we go to my parents' house and get together with my bothers and their families. My sister Rachel is in New York,so she wasn't there. I have one sister-n-law and nephew and 4 bothers and Daniel brought his girlfriend. My grandmother Foster (mom's mom) and aunt Darlene (mom's identical twin) was there also this year. Darlene moved down here in August and she is living with us, and grandma's been coming down from P.A. for 2 years now and staying a few months with my parents. Anyhow we all eat supper together and then dad reads the Christmas story and then Little Zachary passes out the gifts (now that he can read) one at a time. We have a lot of fun. That night when we go home we put the 3 babies to bed and I fill Esteban's and the kid's stockings and then Esteban fills mine and we lay them under the tree. This year we got to fill Aunt Darlene's stocking also. We broke the tradition a little this year. We were to tired to fill the stockings before going to bed so we did it the next morning. While I straighted the kitchen up, Esteban and Darlene filled my stocking and then I sent Esteban and the kids to the bedroom while I stuffed theirs and Dar watched. When it was time to fill hers she went to the bedroom and waited. After all the stockings were filled, we sat around the tree and Esteban read part of the Christmas story in Spanish and then I read the last part in English, and Darlene prayed. We then took turns and opened our stockings. Esteban put a battery charger in my stocking and when I saw it I asked him if he got me a digital camera and he just smiled and I about cried. After the stockings, Esteban passes out the gifts one by one and we have a lot of fun opening them. The best part is watching the 3 children open their gifts. It was Fabian's 1st Christmas. He opened a rolling ball and after that he could care less that he had more gifts to open. He played with his ball and I had to help him open the others. Esteban got me a digital camera and wrapped it in a box and then he re wrapped it in another box. Well it was my turn to open my gift and I opened the one box and then he made me put it back under the tree and wait to open the other box because we are only allowed to open one at a time. Finally, he let me open it and sure enough it was my camera. He did the same with the chip that goes in the camera. I had mentioned something before Christmas Day that i only had to small gifts to open from my hubby. So after I opened them he told me that I had 4 to unwrap. He is always mischief at Christmas. I bought him a big tool box, but it was all bagged up so we took it back and got a set of tools that came in a tool box instead. After we open all our gifts we go to my parents for dinner and spend the day there. We had a wonderful Christmas.
For New Year's Eve, we took the kids and went to see the lights in Tangle wood and on the way home we picked up grandma Foster and she spent the night with us and we played games while the kids were in bed. Well I hope that you all have a good evening and have a wonderful year. Let's stay close to Jesus no matter what happens this year. May the Lord bless each one of you.
